§  Build, maintain and consolidate regional e-Infrastructures dedicated to e-Science

    and education across the Arab Countries:

o    Developing, managing and operating a regional network that Interconnect the NRENs of the Arab Countries

o    Promoting harmonization of policies and standards in relevant areas at a regional level.

o    Advocating at the regional level amongst decision makers and stakeholders

  • Contribute to create and sustain NRENS:

o    Supporting NRENs to implement leading-edge technological solutions while pursuing cost-effectiveness

o    Favouring exchange of expertise and best practices amongst NRENs’ personnel in the Region

  • Facilitate collaboration and cooperation among researchers and academics:

o    Increasing availability and accessibility to knowledge resources

o    Promoting development of content in Arabic

o    Facilitating knowledge exchange and transfer processes across the region and with relevant partners worldwide

o    Promoting the adoption and usage of e-Infrastructures and services among the scientific community

o    Strengthening regional partnerships and encouraging joint scientific research

  • Extend the collaboration in scientific research to Europe and worldwide and

           to help in the transfer of Technology

o    To strengthen the cooperation between governmental and non-governmental Arab, German and European universities, institutes, research organisations etc..

o    To extend the collaboration between the Arab researchers

o    Help in the Transfer of Technology:

o    To extend the European experience in the regional networking to the Arab Network ASREN, namely GEANT3

o    To make use of the pan European programs and models in supporting the research and research infrastructure

     such as the 7th Framework Program

o    To make use of the national programs in the European Countries to develop and promote research and regional collaboration
